NorthStar Network Publishes New Site Using iProduction Systems

ST. PAUL, MN – October 7, 2002 – The NorthStar Network, named for the 19th century abolitionist newspaper, The North Star, has launched a new web site at www.thenorthstarnetwork.com The site was the third site developed and released by iProduction during the month of September.

The NorthStar Network offers news, opinion, special reports, and events within the editorial franchise of the experiences of black people in America. The network is a unit of NorthStar News Media L.L.C. of Maplewood, New Jersey.

NorthStar Network Publisher and CEO Walter L. Fields has a long-standing interest in media and politics. Mr. Fields is formerly the principal of Fields Communications, a public affairs company located in New Jersey. Prior to establishing his own firm, he served as the Director of Public Affairs for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and prior to that was the Senior Government Policy Analyst for the Community Service Society of New York, and for five years was the Political Action Director for the New Jersey branches of the NAACP.

Mr. Fields has had a distinguished career as a journalist. He has been a columnist for The Record, one of New Jersey's most widely read daily newspapers. He was a Contributing Editor for New Jersey Reporter, a public affairs monthly magazine and one of the original contributors on the MSNBC cable news channel. Mr. Fields is a frequent guest on national and local public affairs programs, including CNBC's "Hardball with Chris Matthews," MSNBC's "Equal Time," Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," "America's Black Forum," and "Hannity & Colmes," "BET Tonight" and Court TV's "Pros & Cons."
