By Steve Horton ST. PAUL, MN November 11, 2005 Ogden Publications and iProduction have completed the first-ever integration of Advantage Computing Systems in-house Advantage fulfillment software with iProductions iPro IPS Internet publishing system. The integration of the two systems can be experienced on Ogdens new online publication Mother Earth Living, located on the Web at motherearthliving.com. Mother Earth Living serves an online audience concerned with conscientious living. The publication covers nine categories: alternative energy; do-it-yourself; green home building; natural health; organic gardening; whole foods and cooking; homesteading and self-reliance; nature and environment; and livestock and farming. Site visitors can also register to receive a bi-weekly e-newsletter. Mother Earth Living is part of the Mother Earth Network, which, in addition to Mother Earth News, includes the interactive Mother Earth Library, several community forums and Mother Earth Shopping. The circulation for the websites and associated print publications is managed through Advantage fulfillment software. Specific Project Achievements The goal of this integration project was to enable the Advantage fulfillment software and the iPro IPS to work together to create real-time operating efficiencies, eliminate errors, and reduce the costs associated with electronic product delivery. The primary benefits of this integration are threefold:
Software engineers at Ogden and iProduction worked together to identify and link specific database components and application controls from both systems to create a seamless, reliable, and cost-effective fulfillment solution that delivers real-time results at the enterprise level.
